** E-billing and E-payment program for Midway Sewer bills **

Midway Sewer has teamed up with doxo to provide our customers a convenient, easy way to receive bills electronically. The doxo network allows customers to create an "electronic mailbox", where you can receive bills from Midway Sewer, as well as other providers, such as Puget Sound Energy, Sprint and AT&T.

Doxo also provide secure payment options, from a computer, mobile phone or tablet. Doxo allows you to make payments on your schedule, not ours.

There are no fees or hidden costs to sign up, and there are no convenience fees for payment. Payments thru the doxo network are ACH payments, which is thru a bank account. Re-occurring payments can also be setup thru the doxo network.

Welcome New Commissioners

On February 13, 2013, Scot Sanborn and Jim Bailey were appointed to fill the two vacant Board of Commissioner positions for the Midway Sewer District. The Board and staff, and hopefully the public they serve, would like to welcome each of these two gentlemen to the Board.

Mr. Sanborn, a life long resident of this community, has over 28 years experience in the building industry, running a successful business. Scot is expected to bring a builder’s perspective to the Board, in addition to his other life experiences. He has seen the District firsthand what it is like to work with the District so he can connect new sewers to the system.

Mr. Bailey, has over 33 years experience in the wastewater industry. He has performed virtually every duty a sewer worker does. He worked his way up from an entry level position to a high level supervisor. He had obtained the highest level wastewater operator certification the Department of Ecology offers, level 4. He graduated from Humbolt State University, in Arcadia, California, where he earned a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Biology. Jim is expected to bring a wastewater operators perspective to the Board. He is well known at the Des Moines Marina, where he trades secrets about where the fishing is best.

Both of these new Commissioners are also rate payers and intend to help keep the Midway Sewer rates as low as practical without compromising the District’s commitment to protecting the environment and public health.

** Online Credit Card Payments **

Midway Sewer is also offering online credit card payments. Pay with a credit card without calling the District.

Click <Here> (or on the credit card picture above) to make an online credit card payment.

If you would like to view your bill, please log into the doxo network. The website is www.doxo.com/midwaysewer.

There are no convenience fees for online credit card payments. Please have your bill handy to complete the payment screen.

Rates:

Midway Sewer's rates increased August 1, 2012.  The rate increase is  $2.00/month. The new rate is $.80 cents per day.

Midway Sewer bills on a 60-day bill cycle, so the residential bill amount is currently $48.00 per bill period.

Rates for our commercial customers is $0.032 per cubic foot of water consumption.

Please contact the District with any questions.

Downtown Des Moines Rehabilitation Project - Please see our Construction page for important information on this project.

Unconnected Properties:

Previous District Policy was to bill properties within a ULID even if they were not connected to the sewer system.  A change in District Policy has changed the billing policy on unconnected properties.

If your property is not physically connected to the sewer system (you have a septic tank) and are currently billed by Midway Sewer District, please contact the District.  We will come to your house and perform a dye test to verify if the property is connected or not. (There is no digging or property disruption to do the test).

Once the property is verified to not be connected to the sewer, we will discontinue billing.  The properties that qualify were billed properly under District Policy, and no refunds will be given of prior payments.

Please contact the Side Sewer Department at the District for more information or to schedule a dye test.
